I worked really closely with Matt to really figure out exactly what he wanted for Sophie and you can see here how the ring changed through the drawing process.
Matt really wanted to include Mothercombe bay as their special place and we engraved the outline of the map onto the 18 carat yellow god ring.
One of my favourite things about this commission was when Sophie came in to see us afterwards and I knew that we had got the design right for her.
Rebekah had her original wedding ring stolen (not made by us) so she took this a sa sign and decided to go for a more personal and bespoke one this time. Dave and Rebekah have a huge love for Hawaii and a bit of an obsession with the stars so I looked at images of big waves and the sky, and the Van Gogh painting starry night. I sourced a huge and really lovely sapphire for the central stone which Rebekah hand picked and then we designed the rest of the ring in my own hand made alloy of a...
Richard wanted a ring for Hannah which reflected their life together sharing walks and swims in Devon. We chose Firestone Bay where they swim a lot and the ring even has the tidal pool marked on it; that’s the little grey gold square with a diamond set in it. I have used a large Australian sapphire here to really sparkle and shine which Richard came to the studio to hand select. He also chose the colour of gold for Hannah’s ring.
Matt wanted a ring for Lizzie that reflected her family values, their love for their four children and their creative happy lives. I designed a rose gold waves ring featuring two large stones. A green sapphire for Liz’s birthstone and pink ruby for Matt’s, surrounded by the birthstones of their children. The inside of the ring has a star map showing the exact time that they first said they loved each other.
The ring has engraving details which was done using Japanese punches and chisel techniques.
