Pendant for Charlotte
Charlotte bought a necklace online from me and then asked me to make a gift for her Grandmother’s 80th birthday
She needed some practical considerations like a large clasp for her Grandmother to be able to do it up, and artistic considerations like a watery feel as her Grandmother lived on a narrow boat for 20 years.
Charlotte had seen a previous droplet pendant we made and so this one has evolved from that. Ford and I have been really interested in our shared sense of line and form over the last while and as Ford say’s: “To my way of thinking good Goldsmithing is a balance of practical function, technical precision and lyrical artistry. This little pendant, that we've christened Undine, is the result of the collaborative design process Bella and I have developed over the past couple of years. We think that the delicate balance of all the necessary qualities have made it a proper little treasure.”
Sometimes I really want to keep the pieces we send out and when this was made and in my hand it felt like actual real treasure. I want one!
