Bangle for Charlene

A young woman called Charlene came to see me with a bag full of her late mum’s old gold jewellery and she wanted help making it into something she could treasure and wear.  I invited her into the studio to watch me melt all the gold down and then we turned it into a stunning bangle.  We carefully kept some of the settings from the rings in tact as we removed them and then soldered them onto the bangle whole because Charlene remembered the shape of them from her childhood.

Now when Charlene thinks of her Mum she can just touch the bangle and feel reassured instead of having a bag full of jewellery she never wore, lost in a drawer.
